Description

The Montanini-E is a mother and child floor lamp in a black finish. It stands 176cm tall and is 22.5cm in diameter. Its body is steel and plastic, and it carries two white plastic shades. A wide bowl at the top sends light up towards the ceiling, and a smaller reading shade on a flexible arm can be angled towards a chair or a book. It takes E27 bulbs at a maximum of 40W. No bulb is included, so you can choose the warmth of light that suits the room. The IP20 rating settles where it belongs: indoors, in dry rooms such as a lounge, a bedroom or a study.

We like it most beside an armchair or a sofa, where the two lights do two different jobs. The uplighter washes the ceiling with a broad, soft light, while the reading shade puts light just where your hands and your page are. That makes it a good choice for a living room corner, a bedroom reading spot or a home office that needs more than one kind of light from a single stand. The slim black stem takes up little floor space, and the white shades sit easily with pale walls and most furniture. Being a floor lamp, it can move with the furniture whenever a room changes.
