Description

The Montali is a three tier storage stand, 100cm tall and 28cm square on the floor. Rattan is handwoven around an iron frame to form three open baskets, set one above the other up the height of the stand. The rattan is left in its natural colour and the wire is woven in with it. The whole stand weighs 3.4kg.

At 100cm tall and 28cm square it takes very little floor, so it will go in the gap between a counter and a wall, at the end of a run of units, or in a pantry. The three baskets are open at the top and set apart up the frame, which keeps fresh produce off the worktop and separated: onions in one, potatoes in another. It does the same job for the household things that would otherwise fill a drawer. It stands on the floor rather than on a counter.

The frame is iron and the baskets are rattan, handwoven around it. Rattan takes less time to mature than other woods and the same plant can be harvested several times over, and the rattan used here is grown sustainably. The Montali range also runs a spice rack, a pair of storage baskets and a two tier fruit stand.
