The Molochio is a linear pendant light with three smoked glass shades hanging from a black steel ceiling bar. The bar is 88cm long and 12.5cm wide, and the light drops to 110cm high overall, so it covers a long table in a way a single pendant cannot. Each rounded shade is vaporised glass in a black-transparent tone, which gives it a smoky, reflective sheen whether the LEDs are lit or not. The light source is integrated LED at 3.7W per shade, with 500 lumens from each of the three lights. It is rated IP20, which settles where it lives: indoors and dry, in a dining room, kitchen or living room.

Its natural place is above a dining table, where the three shades spread light along the whole length rather than pooling it in the middle, and it works just as well over a kitchen island or breakfast bar. The colour temperature adjusts from 2700 to 6500K, so you can set a warm, low glow for dinner and a crisp, cool white for cooking or homework, and the light dims as well. The colour-changing RGB setting adds a wash of colour for a party or a quiet evening. It suits anyone who wants one fitting to do the work of several.

There is no switch on the fitting itself: it is switched at the wall, and day to day you control brightness, white tone and colour through the app. It also works with a remote control, sold separately, as none comes in the box. The body is black steel and the shades are glass, so a soft, dry cloth keeps them free of dust and fingerprints. As a mains light wired into the ceiling, it is installed by a qualified electrician, and the installation instructions come as a download.
