Description

The Mistral is a 400mm flush ceiling light with three curved acrylic diffusers arranged around a polished chrome central plate. Each diffuser houses an integrated 6W LED module, giving a combined 18W output at 3000K warm white and a total 1620 lumens. The frosted white acrylic softens the light and hides the LED chips, turning each curved panel into a glowing surface rather than a point source.

Designed for rooms with standard or low ceiling heights, the Mistral sits 80mm proud of the ceiling and spreads light evenly across lounges, bedrooms, hallways and open-plan kitchen-diners. The flush-to-ceiling profile avoids head clearance issues in rooms with ceiling heights below 2.4m, while the 1620lm output provides ambient illumination for spaces of 12-16m². The three diffusers form a pinwheel arrangement that creates visual interest when viewed from below without disrupting light distribution.

The polished chrome finish reflects ambient daylight during the day and gives the fitting a cooler metallic accent against white or neutral ceilings. The contrast between the reflective chrome plate and the matt frosted acrylic softens the overall appearance compared to an all-metal fitting. At 2kg, the Mistral mounts directly to a standard UK ceiling rose with the backplate concealing the wiring entry point and fixings.

No. The integrated LED modules are non-dimmable and designed to run at full 18W output on standard 230V mains switching.

What size room does it suit?

The 1620lm output provides ambient lighting for rooms of approximately 12-16m². For larger lounges or open-plan areas, two Mistral fittings can be spaced 2-3m apart to give even coverage.

What ceiling height is needed?

The Mistral sits 80mm below the ceiling, making it suitable for rooms with ceiling heights from 2.2m upwards. It works well in low-ceiling flats, conversions and older properties where pendant lights would reduce headroom.

How is the acrylic cleaned?

Wipe the frosted acrylic diffusers with a soft, dry microfibre cloth. For stubborn marks, a barely-damp cloth is acceptable, but avoid spraying cleaners directly onto the acrylic or chrome as this can streak the polished metal.
