Description

The Misko S25 is a single pendant light with a rounded, drum-shaped glass shade, 24cm tall and 25cm across. The white shade is finely ribbed in soft bands around its body, and it hangs beneath a slim collar on a cable with a drop of up to 250cm. It comes in a walnut or black finish, so you can pick a warm wood tone or a crisp dark one to sit above the white. The round ceiling canopy is 10.5cm across and 3cm deep, small enough to sit neatly on the ceiling.

We think it sits most happily over a dining table or in a living room. At 25cm across it is a comfortable size to hang on its own above a small table, or in a row of several over a longer one. The long drop lets you set the height to suit a tall ceiling as well as a standard one. The shade wraps the bulb, so the light comes through the white glass rather than from a bare lamp, which keeps the effect soft around a table. It is rated IP20, so it is for dry rooms only.

The design is by Stone Designs: one ribbed shade held in a single collar, finished in walnut or black. It is a Class I fitting that runs on mains power and is wired in by a qualified electrician. It is not dimmable, so it works from an ordinary switch rather than a dimmer. It needs one E27 bulb of up to 10W, sold separately, which supplies the light, and choosing it yourself means you can pick the warmth of light you prefer. Have the bulb to hand before your electrician arrives, so the pendant can be lit as soon as it is up. Our photographs show the black version.
