Mios 15 Light Crystal Flush Ceiling Light - Polished Chrome

The Mios is a 750mm flush-mount crystal ceiling light built around a polished chrome circular frame from which fifteen curved chrome arms radiate outwards, each supporting strands of precision-cut Asfour crystal droplets in diamond and teardrop shapes. Fifteen G4 halogen bulbs (included) sit behind the crystals, creating multiple points of refraction across the cut glass. The 430mm projection from ceiling to lowest crystal point makes this a flush-mount designed for rooms with ceiling heights under 2.4m where a pendant would hang too low.

Designed for entrance halls, living rooms and dining rooms where ceiling height limits chandelier options but visual impact is still required, the Mios delivers decorative presence without the drop of a suspension fitting. The 750mm diameter suits rooms of 15-25m² where the fixture becomes the dominant ceiling feature. The flush-mount plate fixes directly to the ceiling rose with all wiring concealed behind the chrome canopy, so there is no visible chain or cable run. The polished chrome finish reflects both natural and artificial light, amplifying brightness during the day and creating highlights at night.

Each of the chrome arms curves outward from the centre, layering the crystals at different depths to create a three-dimensional effect rather than a flat disc. The Asfour crystals are lead-free optical glass cut with facets that refract light into prismatic colours when the bulbs are lit. The combined weight of chrome frame and crystals is 12kg, requiring secure fixing into a joist or ceiling support capable of carrying the load. The fitting is dimmable using a trailing-edge dimmer compatible with G4 halogen loads.

Is the Mios dimmable?

Yes. The fifteen G4 halogen bulbs are dimmable using a trailing-edge dimmer rated for the 300W total load. Standard leading-edge dimmers designed for incandescent bulbs may cause flickering or hum with G4 halogens.

What ceiling height is needed?

The 430mm projection from ceiling to lowest crystal suits rooms with ceiling heights under 2.4m where a pendant chandelier would hang too low. In rooms with 2.2-2.3m ceilings the Mios provides decorative impact without head clearance issues.

Are the G4 bulbs included?

Yes. Fifteen G4 halogen bulbs rated at 20W each are included. Replacement G4 bulbs are widely available and the sockets accept both halogen and G4 LED capsules, though the specification notes that LED and CFL compatibility has not been tested by Diyas.

How is the crystal maintained?

Wipe crystals with a dry microfibre cloth while the fitting is switched off and cool. For more thorough cleaning, individual crystal strands can be unhooked from the chrome arms, cleaned with warm soapy water, dried completely, and re-hung. Avoid spraying cleaning products directly onto the fitting as liquid can enter the electrical components behind the canopy.
