Mios 12 Light Crystal Flush Ceiling Light - Polished Chrome

The Mios is a 600mm flush crystal ceiling light built around a circular polished chrome frame that supports cascading Asfour crystal droplets arranged in multiple tiers. Twelve G4 halogen bulbs (included) sit within the frame, casting light through the cut crystal to create refraction patterns across ceilings and walls. The fixture projects 400mm from the ceiling, making it a semi-flush design rather than a true flush mount.

Designed for living rooms, dining rooms and entrance halls with ceiling heights of 2.4m or above, the Mios provides both ambient light through the crystal curtain and direct downlight through the open base. The 600mm diameter suits rooms of 15-25m² where a central ceiling fitting is the primary light source. The polished chrome arms curve outward from the central drum, creating a crown-like silhouette when viewed from below, with the crystal droplets catching and dispersing light as the viewer moves around the room.

The crystal droplets are Asfour lead-free optical crystal, precision-cut to maximise refraction and light play. The polished chrome finish on the metalwork provides high reflectivity, amplifying the brightness of the twelve 20W halogen bulbs to a combined 240W output. At 9kg, the fitting requires a ceiling rose rated for its weight and secure fixing into a joist or ceiling batten. The fixture is dimmable when paired with a trailing edge dimmer compatible with halogen lighting.

Is the Mios dimmable?

Yes, the Mios is dimmable when connected to a trailing edge dimmer designed for halogen loads. The fixture draws 240W at full brightness, so the dimmer must be rated for at least 250W. Leading edge dimmers are not compatible and may cause flickering.

What bulbs does it take and are they included?

The Mios takes twelve G4 halogen capsule bulbs, maximum 20W each. Bulbs are included with the fitting. G4 LED replacements are not recommended as they may cause compatibility issues with the transformer and dimmer circuit.

What room size does it suit?

The 600mm diameter and 240W halogen output suit living rooms, dining rooms or entrance halls of approximately 15-25m². In smaller rooms under 12m² the fitting may feel oversized; in rooms over 30m² it may need supplementary lighting around the perimeter.

How is the crystal cleaned?

Switch off the power at the consumer unit before cleaning. Wipe each crystal droplet with a dry microfibre cloth. For more stubborn marks, a barely-damp cloth with distilled water is acceptable, but avoid soaking the crystals or getting moisture into the lamp holders. Do not use glass cleaner sprays or polishes on Asfour crystal.
