Description

This clear glass photo frame welcomes a new arrival with Minnie Mouse floating upwards on a silver glitter heart balloon, drifting past soft pink and mint clouds and a scattering of little stars. Beside her sits a window for a 7 x 5in portrait photograph, edged with a sparkling silver glitter border, and the words Baby Girl are printed inside a small leafy wreath near the base. It stands 29.5cm tall, 24.5cm wide and just 1cm deep, so it needs very little room.

We see it as a keepsake for a baby girl, and a thoughtful gift for a birth or for new parents settling in with their daughter. Slip in a first photograph from the hospital or the early weeks at home and it becomes a little record of the very beginning. It sits happily on a nursery shelf, a chest of drawers or a bedside table, and its gentle pink, mint and silver palette suits a soft pastel or neutral room. It is a piece for her room rather than a toy, so we would place it up out of reach of small hands, where it can stay on show through her childhood and into her teenage years.

At the back, a white easel stand folds out so the frame stands upright on its own, with no wall, nails or hooks needed. The white backing is held by two small clips, so changing the photograph as she grows takes only a moment. To keep the glass bright, dust it with a soft dry cloth, or wipe it gently with a barely damp cloth and dry it straight away, keeping sprays and scouring pads away from the printed design. For a first visit to the new family, add a printed photograph of the baby so the gift is ready to go on show the day it is opened.
