Description

The Mini Riti is a compact round LED downlight built for recessed mounting in the ceiling. It takes a single GU10 lamp rated up to 10W running on a 220-240V AC mains supply, so the beam and colour temperature follow whichever GU10 you fit rather than being fixed in the fitting. Across the Atlantic a recessed fitting of this kind is known as a recessed can light, the small trim sitting flush in the ceiling while the lamp does the work above the line. At Ø85mm the front trim stays neat against the plasterboard, with the body reaching 102mm up into the void behind.

Being a small single-lamp downlight, the Mini Riti works well in groups across hallways, landings, kitchens and living spaces, spaced out to wash a room evenly rather than relied on as a single source. The actual output depends on the GU10 lamp chosen, so plan the number of fittings around the lamps you intend to pair with it and the brightness you want underfoot. It is an indoor fitting only, given the IP20 rating, so keep it to dry rooms and away from bathrooms, porches or any damp or exposed location. Allow enough clearance above the ceiling for the 102mm body and the lamp behind it before setting out a run.

The housing is made from aluminium alloy in a black finish, giving a low-profile trim that recesses cleanly into the ceiling. As a GU10 fitting it runs straight from mains voltage with no separate driver or transformer to specify, and dimming is handled by pairing a dimmable GU10 lamp with a compatible dimmer. The fitting weighs 172g and drops into a round cut-out, held by spring clips behind the trim. The Mini Riti is also offered in other finishes within the range to suit different ceilings.

The fitting itself does not control dimming; it runs at mains voltage and takes a standard GU10 lamp. To dim it, fit a dimmable GU10 lamp and pair it with a compatible dimmer switch.

What size hole do I need to cut for it?

The Mini Riti has a Ø85mm front trim and recesses into a round ceiling cut-out, so set your cut-out to suit the fitting body rather than the visible trim diameter. Allow 102mm of depth in the ceiling void above for the body and the GU10 lamp.
