Description

The Mila Dome Pendant Light is a wide, shallow dome of aluminium in a matt black finish, hung on a black textile cable from a round ceiling canopy. It measures 39cm across and 11cm tall, a low, broad profile with a stepped top that rises to a neat cable grip, and the open dome directs its light downwards onto whatever sits beneath it. It takes one E27 lamp. The lamp is not included, so you are free to pick the E27 bulb that suits the room, whether that is a warm vintage style filament or a plain everyday LED.

We like it hung over a dining table, where the wide dome spreads light across the whole table top, or above a desk in a study, a sideboard in the living room or the centre of a hallway or landing. Its industrial look sits comfortably in a modern home, from a loft style flat to a simple painted room, and two or three in a row make a strong line over a long table. It is rated IP20, so it is for dry rooms only.

The structure is aluminium, finished in matt black, with 1.5m of textile cable and an 8cm ceiling canopy. It runs on 220-240V and is a simple on-off fitting, worked from your ordinary light switch. As a mains fitting, it is for a qualified electrician to install, and it carries a 2 year guarantee. For styling, the matt black dome reads strongly against pale walls and warm timber, so hang it where it has some clear space around it, and choose a warm white E27 bulb if you want a softer glow across the table beneath.
