Description
Mika Blue is a wall mirror 107cm high by 81cm wide in a slim black metal frame, with soft curved shapes printed across the lower part of the glass in white, teal and green. The curves are printed onto the silvered sheet rather than applied over it, so they sit in the reflection, and they clear towards the top, which keeps most of the mirror usable. The design is by Inge Rylant.
It suits a hallway, a bedroom or a bathroom, where it is rated to go, and it is sized for a wall where a full length mirror would be too much. It hangs in four directions, and each rotation moves the printed area to a different edge. The design is made to hang in pairs as well as alone, and two side by side read as one continuous curve. At 12.5kg and 2cm deep it is a one person lift that sits close to the wall, with two screws, washers and plugs supplied and nothing to assemble.
The mirror is printed and mirrored glass in a black metal frame. Clean it with cleaner sprayed onto a soft cloth rather than onto the glass, and dry the frame rather than leaving water on it. The colours are opaque rather than translucent, so they hold against a dark wall as well as a pale one, and the black frame gives the print an edge it would lose frameless. The curves are drawn to run off the edge of the glass rather than to sit within it, which is what makes a pair read as one shape instead of two pictures. Seven year warranty, made in Europe.

Frequently Asked
Is the pattern printed?
Yes, onto the silvered sheet rather than applied over it, so the shapes sit in the reflection.
How much of it is mirror?
Most of it. The shapes are gathered across the lower part and clear towards the top.
Can it be used in a bathroom?
Yes. It is rated bathroom proof, so steam and humidity are not a problem.
Does it work in a pair?
Yes. The curves run off the edge of the glass, so two side by side read as one shape.
What size is it and what does it weigh?
81cm wide by 107cm high and 2cm deep, weighing 12.5kg.
