Description

The Metro Blocks cushion is a 45 x 45cm square in a velvet jacquard, carrying an abstract block design of short, brushed rectangles that tumble across the face in pink, orange, teal, navy and sage. It is a jacquard, so the pattern is woven into the pile rather than printed on top, which is why the colours hold their depth and the raised blocks catch the light from different angles. The reverse is a plain teal velvet, drawn from the same palette so the cushion reads well whichever way it lands.

This is a cushion for a room that can take colour. It sits happily on a plain sofa or a neutral bed, where the busy front does the work against a quiet background, and it pairs easily with the solid teal picked out on its reverse. Group it with plainer cushions in one or two of the shades it already contains, so the block print stays the focal point rather than competing.
