Description

The Merivon is a ribbed glass bulkhead flush ceiling light: a round fitting that sits close to the ceiling, with a clear ribbed glass dome held inside a brass cage. The ribs run in rings across the top of the dome and in fine vertical lines down its sides, so a single bulb glows through the glass in bright bands of light. The curved bars of the cage meet in a ring at the centre, and screw clamps hold the dome to its base around the rim. It is 20cm across and 12cm deep, and it is made from brass, glass and polycarbonate. We offer it in three finishes: Raw Brass, Antique Brass and Antique Silver.

Because it sits flush, the Merivon suits a hallway where a pendant would hang too low, giving clear light overhead without eating into headroom. Its caged, ribbed form has a workmanlike, nautical character that sits comfortably with painted panelling, plain plaster or exposed brick, and the three finishes let you match it to the door furniture, switches or other metalwork nearby. With a depth of just 12cm, it keeps a tidy profile on lower ceilings. It is rated IP20, so it is for dry rooms indoors only.

The fitting takes one E27 bulb, up to 60W, and bulbs are sold separately, so you can choose the bulb that suits your hallway. It is a mains fitting, wired in to the mains by a qualified electrician. Every Merivon is made to order for you in Ireland, and the maker guarantees the fittings it makes for five years from the date of purchase; bulbs are not covered by that guarantee.
