Description

The Mercury ST02 is an indoor UHF wide-band TV aerial (or antenna, as it's known in the US) built for Digital Terrestrial TV signals. It covers the 470 to 862MHz frequency range with a gain of 5dB and a standard 75 ohm impedance, so it works alongside the connections you'll already have on a Freeview television or set-top box. The design supports both horizontal and vertical polarity, giving you flexibility depending on how your local transmitter broadcasts.

A double reflector sits behind the aerial to help combat ghosting, which is the faint duplicate image that can appear when a signal arrives from more than one path. The aerial is isolated to BS5373, a British safety standard for indoor aerials, and it comes ready for simple self assembly. You won't need any specialist tools to put it together and set it in place near your set. A 1.4m coaxial connecting lead is supplied in the box, so it's ready to plug in once assembled.

At 190 x 290 x 320mm and weighing 290g, the ST02 is compact enough to sit on a shelf, cabinet or windowsill without taking up much room. It suits homes in reasonable signal areas where a large loft or outdoor aerial isn't practical, such as flats, rented rooms or a second television. Position it near a window or higher up for the best reception, and adjust the polarity to match your transmitter if the picture needs improving. As a plain, no-fuss indoor aerial, it gives you a straightforward route to Freeview channels.

Frequently Asked

Will the Mercury ST02 work with Freeview?

Yes. It's compatible with Digital Terrestrial TV signals across the UHF 470 to 862MHz range, which covers Freeview broadcasts in the UK.

What does the double reflector do?

The double reflector helps combat ghosting, the faint duplicate image that can appear when a signal reaches the aerial from more than one path. It aims to give you a cleaner picture.

Is a cable included?

Yes. A 1.4m coaxial connecting lead is supplied, so you can plug the aerial straight into your television or set-top box once it's assembled.

Does it support both signal polarities?

It does. The ST02 handles both horizontal and vertical polarity, so you can match it to how your local transmitter broadcasts.

Is this aerial easy to set up?

The ST02 is designed for simple self assembly with no specialist tools needed. It's also isolated to the BS5373 safety standard for indoor aerials.

Where should I place an indoor aerial?

Near a window or higher up in the room usually gives the best reception. If your picture needs improving, try adjusting the polarity to match your transmitter.
