Description

The Mercury is a 300g maximum capacity digital pocket scale with a 37 x 16mm LCD display and blue backlight, measuring in grams, ounces, carats and grains. The weighing platform sits flush with the body and the display sits below it, allowing items to be placed directly on the scale without interference from the readout. The scale runs on two AAA batteries (sold separately) and measures 117 x 63 x 21mm when closed.

Designed for weighing jewellery, coins, precious metals, small components and collectables where precision matters, the Mercury includes a tare function that zeros the display after placing a container, so you weigh only the contents. A counting mode tallies 25, 50, 75 or 100 identical pieces placed on the platform, useful for sorting small fasteners, beads or similar items. The blue backlight improves readability in low-light workshop or travel conditions.

The scale incorporates overload and instability indicators that appear on the LCD if the load exceeds 300g or if the platform is not stable during measurement. An auto power-off feature switches the scale off after a period of inactivity to conserve battery. At 85g the Mercury fits into a pocket or toolkit without adding bulk, and the protective flip cover doubles as a tray for loose items during weighing.

Frequently Asked

What units does the Mercury scale support?

The scale measures in grams (g), ounces (oz), carats (ct) and grains (gn). You switch between units using the UNITS button on the control panel. This makes it suitable for weighing both jewellery and precious metals where different units are standard.

How does the counting function work?

Place a known quantity of identical items (25, 50, 75 or 100 pieces) on the platform, then activate the counting mode. The scale calculates the average weight per piece and displays the total count as you add or remove items. This is useful for sorting small components like beads, screws or coins.

What does the tare function do?

The tare button zeros the display after placing a container on the platform, so the scale reads only the weight of the contents you add afterwards. This is standard practice when weighing loose items that need to be contained during measurement.

How long do the batteries last?

Battery life depends on usage frequency and backlight use. The auto power-off feature helps conserve battery by switching the scale off after a period of inactivity. The scale requires two AAA batteries, which are not included with purchase.
