Description

The Mercury DC power splitter cable connects one 2.1mm DC socket to four 2.1mm DC jack plugs, allowing a single 12V power supply to run up to four low-voltage devices simultaneously. The cable measures 400mm from the female socket to the furthest plug, with the four output plugs spaced evenly along the branching cable to reduce clutter behind equipment racks or under pedalboards.

Designed for LED tape installations, CCTV camera arrays, guitar and effects pedalboards, and similar low-voltage 12V DC systems where multiple devices need to share a single power supply. Each of the four output plugs carries the same voltage as the input socket, so the cable acts as a simple distribution splitter rather than a voltage converter or regulator. The 3A maximum current rating applies to the total combined draw across all four outputs, not per plug.

The moulded connectors on both the input socket and the four output plugs provide strain relief where the cable enters the connector body, reducing the risk of cable fracture at the connection points. The flexible black cable jacket allows the splitter to be routed behind equipment without kinking. All connectors use the standard 2.1mm centre-positive barrel jack configuration common to most 12V DC power supplies and devices.

Frequently Asked

What's the maximum current per output plug?

The 3A maximum current rating is a combined total across all four outputs, not per plug. If one device draws 2A, the remaining three outputs can share the remaining 1A. For example, four devices each drawing 0.5A would total 2A and stay within the 3A limit.

Is the polarity centre-positive or centre-negative?

The cable itself does not determine polarity — it passes through whatever polarity the power supply provides. Most 12V DC supplies and devices use centre-positive (tip positive, barrel negative), but always verify the polarity of both the supply and the devices before connecting to avoid damage.

Can this be used with 9V or 24V supplies?

Yes, as long as the voltage is consistent between the supply and all four connected devices, and the combined current draw stays under 3A. The cable is rated for low-voltage DC applications and does not convert or regulate voltage.

What happens if one device draws more than 3A total?

Exceeding the 3A rating can overheat the cable and damage the connectors. If your devices require more than 3A combined, use a higher-rated splitter or run a second power supply with a separate splitter cable.
