Description

The Mercury F315mA is a 6 x 32mm quick blow fuse rated at 315mA on 250V circuits, designed to protect low-current electronics from overload and short-circuit conditions. The glass tube body allows visual inspection of the internal fuse wire, with nickel-plated metal end caps providing contact at each end.

Quick blow fuses react within milliseconds of detecting an overcurrent condition, making them suitable for protecting sensitive components like amplifier circuits, control boards, and audio equipment where a sustained overload would cause damage before a standard slow-blow fuse could react. The 315mA rating sits between the more common 250mA and 500mA sizes, providing precise protection for circuits drawing up to approximately 80W at 250V.

The 6 x 32mm dimension is a standard European fuse size, fitting common fuse holders in consumer electronics, musical equipment, and control panels. The glass body shows when the fuse has blown — the internal wire element separates visibly rather than leaving uncertainty about fuse condition. These fuses meet IEC 60127 safety standards for miniature fuses in electrical equipment.

Frequently Asked

What does 'quick blow' mean?

A quick blow fuse reacts in milliseconds when current exceeds its rating, providing fast protection for sensitive circuits. This contrasts with slow-blow or time-delay fuses which tolerate brief current surges before opening the circuit.

What voltage rating does this carry?

These fuses are rated at 250V. They can be used on lower voltage circuits but must not be fitted to circuits exceeding 250V.

How do I know if the fuse has blown?

The glass body allows you to see the internal wire element. When blown, the wire will be visibly separated or melted. If the wire appears intact, the fuse is likely still functional.

Are these sold individually or in packs?

Check the product listing for pack quantity. Mercury fuses are typically supplied in multi-packs rather than as individual units.
