Description

The Menorca is a flush LED ceiling light with a round steel canopy in a glossy black nickel finish and an egg-shaped clear glass shade around a white satin glass inner cylinder. It stands 24cm tall and measures 20.5cm across, so it sits neatly in rooms where a hanging pendant would crowd the space. The LEDs are integrated, drawing 5.5W and giving 600 lumens, and the IP20 rating settles where it goes: indoors, in dry rooms only.

Light from the white inner cylinder glows through the clear outer glass, so the fitting reads as a soft column of light inside a bubble. That suits a hallway, a landing, a bedroom or a study, especially where the ceiling is on the low side. The colour temperature adjusts from a very warm 2200K to a cool 6500K, and the light is dimmable, so one fitting can give a gentle glow for winding down in the evening and a brighter, crisper light for reading or working. For anyone who wants a single ceiling light to cover several moods in one room, that flexibility is the real gain.

A remote control comes in the box and the light is controlled by it, which means the colour temperature and brightness can be adjusted without getting out of your seat. The remote takes a CR2032 battery. There is no switch on the light itself: it is switched at the wall. The light runs on 220-240V mains as a wired-in fitting, so a qualified electrician should install it, and the installation instructions come as a download. The packed weight is 1.915KG, a practical figure to have ready when the fitting goes up on the ceiling.
