Description

A long lumbar cushion cover, 35 x 80cm, in cream cotton velvet with a natural linen reverse. A flat flange runs right round the outside of the seam, so the filled cushion carries a soft border standing proud of the pad rather than a hard edge. The velvet is a warm cream and takes the light differently depending on which way the pile has been brushed.

At 80cm long and 35cm deep this is a cushion to lie along the back of a sofa or across the width of a bed rather than to sit in the corner of a chair. Centred on a sofa, the length is what sets it apart from the 50 x 50cm square in the same range. Laid flat it is 1cm thick.

The face is cotton velvet and the reverse is linen, so the two sides feel and read quite differently and the cover can be turned. It weighs 0.38kg. The Menmai range runs to this same length in eucalyptus, cinnamon and dusty pink, and to a 50 x 50cm square in the same velvets.
