Description

The Menanne is a ceiling pendant with a two-tier woven drum shade in natural wood, hung on a black flex from a round black ceiling rose. The steel body is finished in black. It is 110cm tall overall and 42cm across, a generous size over a dining table or in the centre of a bedroom. The light takes one E27 bulb of up to 40W, and the bulb is not included, so the colour of the light is yours to choose. It is rated IP20, which settles where it goes: dry rooms indoors, never a bathroom or anywhere outside.

We would hang it over a dining table or beside the bed, the two places it looks most at home. The woven shade suits rooms built around natural materials, so timber furniture, linen, cane and plants all sit well beside it, while the black flex and ceiling rose stop it looking too rustic. The open weave lets light pass through its gaps, so the whole shade glows rather than throwing a hard pool of light onto the table. That makes it a good choice for evening meals, and for a bedroom that needs a gentle, restful light. A warm white bulb plays to the honey tone of the wood.

Beneath the wider drum sits a narrower second tier, woven in the same natural wood. There is no switch on the light itself; it is switched at the wall, so it works from your existing switch.
