Description

The Mei 125 is a generous ribbon pendant light from the Mei range, with a wide cone shade 125cm across and 60cm tall. Translucent ribbon is wound in fine vertical pleats around a black iron structure, tapering from a narrow opening at the top out to a broad rim, then turning gently inward in a pleated band at the base. Light glows softly through the ribbon and falls from the open base onto the table or floor beneath. The shade comes in White Translucent Ribbon or Cream Translucent Ribbon, so you can choose a crisp white or a softer cream to suit your room.

At this size it is made for rooms with space to give it: over a large dining table, at the centre of a generous living room, or hung in open-plan rooms with tall ceilings. It also suits hotel lounges, restaurants and other hospitality spaces, where one wide shade, or a group hung at different heights, can light a whole area. The pendant hangs from a ceiling canopy 14cm across. It is rated IP20, so it is for dry indoor rooms only.

The fitting takes five E27 bulbs of up to 15W each. The bulbs are sold separately, not included in the box, and they are what gives the pendant its light, so you can choose them to suit the room. It runs on 230V mains and is wired in by a qualified electrician. It is a Class I fitting, which means it is earthed. The black iron structure holds the ribbon in its tapered cone shape. Before you order, measure your table and the height of your ceiling: at 125cm across and 60cm tall, the shade needs clear space around it and good headroom beneath.
