Description

The Mediterrània PF/105 is an outdoor ceiling light with a wide, wavy shade of woven synthetic polyethylene fibre around a white, rounded diffuser. It is held close to the ceiling on a short stem and a round canopy. The shade is 105cm across and the light is 26.5cm tall overall, with a canopy 12cm across and 5cm tall. The finish is Brown & Brown Synthetic Fibre, so the metalwork and the woven shade are both brown. Inside is an integrated LED of 17.1W giving 1456 lumens of warm 2700K light with a CRI of 90, so colours and faces look natural, and there is no bulb to buy or change.

Rated IP66 and made for outdoor use, it suits exposed spots as well as sheltered ones: a covered terrace, a veranda, a porch ceiling or the underside of a pergola above a dining table. At 105cm across it fills a generous ceiling and gives a seating or dining area a clear centre after dark, while the open weave keeps such a large shade from looking heavy. It is TRIAC dimmable, so on a compatible dimmer you can bring it down to a low glow for a late supper or turn it up when you are laying the table. We think it suits anyone who wants an outdoor ceiling light with the warmth of a woven shade rather than a plain lantern.

The design is by Alex Fernández Camps. Its metal parts are stainless steel and aluminium, and the shade is woven from synthetic polyethylene fibre, its rim rising and dipping in a soft wave. It runs on 230V mains, is a Class I fitting and is wired in by a qualified electrician. Before ordering, measure your ceiling: allow for the full 105cm across the shade and 26.5cm of height below the ceiling, and you will know it sits comfortably where you want it.
