This is a reversible outdoor cushion that gives you two looks in one cover. One face carries a hand-painted olive design, with plump green olives on a skewer set against a pale sky-blue ground and the word OLIVE stepping down the right-hand side in black. Turn it over and you get a fresh green-and-white stripe. Both sides are edged with a green striped piped trim, so whichever way you face it the finish stays tidy. It measures 45 x 45cm, the standard square that suits most garden seating.

It is made for outside, which is where it earns its keep. The fabric is water-resistant, so a passing shower or a bit of morning dew on your bench will not soak straight through it, and that matters for the way we actually use gardens here: cushions left out between one sunny hour and the next.
