The Medan is a swan neck wall light in brass and glass, with one frosted glass bell shade hanging from a curved arm. The arm rises from a round wall plate and turns down in a smooth swan neck, braced by an open scrolled bracket with small rings worked into it, and the shade flares to a softly scalloped rim. It is 32cm tall and 14.5cm wide, and it stands 28cm out from the wall. We offer it in Antique Brass, Antique Silver, Polished Brass or Satin Brass. It takes one E27 bulb of up to 40W, and bulbs are sold separately.

With its frosted shade giving a soft, diffused glow, the Medan sits comfortably in a bedroom, a dining room or a living room. A pair either side of a bed, a fireplace or a sideboard suits its traditional shape, and a row along a dining room wall makes a welcoming setting for an evening meal. It is rated IP20, so it is for dry rooms only. It fits on a wall and is wired in to the mains, so a qualified electrician should install it.

Each Medan is made to order for you in Ireland. All of its metalwork, from the round wall plate to the scrolled bracket and the swan neck arm, is brass in the finish you choose, and the glass shade sits in a stepped collar at the end of the arm. The maker guarantees the fittings it makes for five years from the date of purchase, though bulbs are not covered. Each finish has its own character, from the aged warmth of Antique Brass to the brightness of Polished Brass, so pick the one that sits best with the handles, switches and frames already in your room.
