The Marini is a compact LED table lamp with a soft, rounded mushroom form: a domed matt black top sits over a band of matt white plastic shade, carried on a slim matt black stem and base. The body is steel and plastic, and the lamp stands 22cm high and 22cm across on a base 9cm across, so it fits a bedside table or a narrow shelf without crowding it. It gives out 1,000lm and is dimmable, a useful amount of light for reading in bed or lifting a dark corner. It is rated IP20, which means it belongs indoors in a dry room.

This is a smart lamp controlled from an app, and it does two jobs well. Adjustable colour temperature lets you set the white light warmer for a relaxed evening or cooler for reading, and because it is colour-changing (RGB) it can wash the wall behind it in blue, violet or pink whenever you want a change of mood.
