Description

The Manvena is an eight-light pendant built around a slim central stem, with straight arms set at different angles so the bulbs point outwards in several directions. The steel body is finished in brushed brass, a soft, warm metallic tone with a muted sheen rather than a mirror shine. It measures 71cm across and 110cm tall overall, a generous span that sits well above a round dining table. Each arm ends in an E27 lampholder, and the bulbs stay on show rather than hiding behind shades. It carries an IP20 rating, which settles where it belongs: indoors, in dry rooms.

We think it looks its best over a dining table, where the spread of arms reaches across the table top and the open bulbs give the room a lively, sculptural centre. It works just as well in a living room, a roomy hallway or a high-ceilinged bedroom, anywhere indoors and dry. Because every bulb is exposed, the bulbs you choose shape the look: clear filament bulbs show off their glowing coils, while frosted ones give a softer, more even glow. The brushed brass sits comfortably beside warm timber, grey walls and green plants, and suits a modern room or a more traditional one equally well.

The body is steel, a strong, rigid metal that holds its shape, and the brushed brass colour carries through the stem, arms, lampholders and round ceiling plate. There is no switch on the pendant itself; it is switched at the wall, so you control it from a light switch in the room. It takes eight E27 bulbs of up to 40W each, and the bulbs are not included, which leaves the choice of bulb to you. It runs on 220-240V, 50/60Hz mains and weighs 2.364KG packed. As a wired-in ceiling light it is installed by a qualified electrician, and the installation instructions come as a download.
