Description

The Malvina is a 3-light glass chandelier with a 360mm diameter frame in polished chrome, designed to convert between pendant and semi-flush ceiling installation. Each of the three arms supports a double-layer glass shade: a frosted inner bowl sits inside a clear outer globe, with a shallow clear dish mounted above each globe. Three G9 capsule bulbs (included) sit inside the frosted bowls, casting diffused light outward through both glass layers.

Designed for dining rooms, bedrooms and living rooms with ceiling heights between 2.3m and 2.7m, the Malvina works as ambient lighting over a 3m-square area. The 260mm drop in chandelier mode suits standard ceiling heights, while the semi-flush conversion reduces the drop to approximately 150mm for lower ceilings or corridor installations. The polished chrome finish on the central column and three curved arms reflects light from the bulbs without dominating the visual composition.

The layered glass construction gives each light position depth and tonal variation when lit — the frosted inner shade softens the bulb filament or LED chip, while the clear outer globe adds a prismatic edge to the light pattern cast onto surrounding surfaces. The three arms are symmetrically spaced around the central column, balancing the 2.8kg fixture weight evenly across the ceiling rose. At 360mm diameter the fitting occupies similar wall-to-wall space as a typical 4-bulb semi-flush but concentrates its light into three defined points rather than a continuous ring.

Is the Malvina dimmable?

Yes, when paired with dimmable G9 bulbs and a compatible dimmer switch. The included G9 capsule bulbs may or may not be dimmable — check the packaging or replace them with dimmable G9 LEDs if dimming control is needed.

What is the difference between chandelier and semi-flush mode?

In chandelier mode the fitting drops approximately 260mm from the ceiling on a central rod. In semi-flush mode the rod is removed or shortened, bringing the fitting closer to the ceiling with a drop of around 150mm. The conversion is done during installation by adjusting the central column assembly.

What ceiling height does it suit?

In chandelier mode the Malvina works best with ceiling heights between 2.3m and 2.7m. For ceilings below 2.3m, semi-flush mode reduces the drop and prevents the fitting from intruding into headroom. For ceilings above 2.7m the fitting may appear undersized unless installed over a defined area like a dining table.

How is the glass cleaned?

Switch off and allow the bulbs to cool. The clear outer globes and frosted inner shades can be wiped with a dry microfibre cloth. For fingerprints or dust build-up, use a barely-damp cloth with distilled water. Avoid sprays or chemical cleaners on the glass as residue can streak when the bulbs heat the surface.
