Majin Table Lamp with Tall Empire Shade - Oxblood

The Majin is a table lamp built around a ceramic vase-form base in a high-gloss oxblood finish, paired with a 400mm cream polycotton empire shade trimmed in burgundy and gold. The ceramic base stands 370mm tall with a 145mm-diameter footprint on a matt black wooden plinth, and the shade adds a further 260mm, bringing the total height to 640mm. A single E27 bulb (sold separately) provides the light source.

Designed for side tables in living rooms, bedrooms and reading corners, the lamp works where a warm accent colour and traditional silhouette pair with contemporary room schemes. The oxblood glaze on the base is a deep red with a high-gloss finish that reflects surrounding light and introduces colour density without being too dark for smaller spaces. The cream shade softens the visual weight of the base and diffuses light across a wider angle than a directional fitting.

The shade's burgundy and gold trim creates a visual bridge between the oxblood base and the cream fabric, unifying the palette. The vase form of the base — narrow at the neck, widening through the body — gives the lamp a balanced silhouette that sits comfortably on side tables between 400-500mm square without overwhelming the surface area. The wooden plinth adds a contrasting texture against the ceramic glaze and provides stability.

What bulb does the Majin take?

The lamp takes a standard E27 (Edison screw) bulb up to 60W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a warm-white LED bulb between 6-10W and 2700K for ambient bedside or living room lighting.

Is the shade fixed or removable?

The shade sits on a standard fitting at the top of the ceramic base and can be removed for bulb changes or cleaning. The shade itself is fabric stretched over a wire frame.

What size side table does it suit?

The 145mm-diameter base footprint and 400mm shade width work best on side tables of 400mm square or larger. Tables smaller than this may feel visually overwhelmed by the shade diameter.

How is the ceramic base cleaned?

The high-gloss oxblood ceramic can be wiped with a damp microfibre cloth. For fingerprints or dust buildup, a small amount of glass cleaner on the cloth works well. Avoid getting moisture on the fabric shade or into the lamp socket.
