Description

The MAGfire is a fire alarm panel isolator switch that isolates the mains voltage supply to a fire alarm system, providing a safe disconnection point for maintenance work and protection against unauthorised operation. The switch uses a key-operated mechanism to control both live and neutral supply lines, and includes a green LED power indicator that shows when the system is energised.

Designed for commercial, residential and institutional fire alarm installations where BS5839 Part 1 compliance is required, the isolator is typically mounted near the main fire alarm control panel in a location accessible to maintenance personnel but not to general building users. The white metal faceplate measures 105mm wide by 98mm high and is engraved with 'FIRE ALARM DO NOT SWITCH OFF' warning text to prevent accidental disconnection during building occupancy.

The double-pole switching isolates both live and neutral lines when the key is turned to the off position, providing a safer disconnection method than single-pole switching for high-voltage fire alarm panels. The key can be removed in either the on or off position, allowing the switch to be locked in the desired state during maintenance or normal operation. The unit fits a standard 25mm back box and connects to the incoming mains supply via standard UK wiring terminals behind the faceplate.
