Description

The MAGfire conventional sounder is a surface-mount fire alarm sounder delivering 86-96 dBA sound output at 1 metre, housed in a red polycarbonate enclosure. Running on 24VDC at 6mA standby current, it connects to conventional fire alarm control panels and provides audible alert across commercial, residential and industrial fire safety installations.

Designed for internal environments where IP21C ingress protection is sufficient, the sounder mounts directly to wall or ceiling surfaces using two screw fixings through the rear of the housing. The red finish provides visual identification as a fire safety device, meeting standard expectations in commercial, education, healthcare and residential alarm installations. The 90mm x 60mm footprint keeps the device unobtrusive on corridor walls, stairwells and ceiling soffits.

The sounder operates on a two-wire connection from the fire panel, drawing minimal current on standby and activating when the alarm condition is triggered. The polycarbonate housing resists impact and temperature variation, and the IP21C rating protects against solid objects above 12.5mm diameter and vertically dripping water. At 0.12kg net weight the unit is light enough for installation on plasterboard walls with standard fixings.

The MAGfire sounder operates on 24VDC supply from a conventional fire alarm control panel. Standby current draw is 6mA, with higher current draw when the alarm condition is active.

Can this be used outdoors?

No. The IP21C rating protects against vertically dripping water and solid objects above 12.5mm, making it suitable for internal environments only. For outdoor fire alarm sounders, an IP65 or IP66-rated model is required.

How loud is the sounder?

Sound output is rated at 86-96 dBA measured at 1 metre from the device. The actual output depends on the voltage supplied and the tone setting configured on the fire panel.

What fixing method is used?
