Description

The MAGfire MAG2P is a 2-zone conventional fire alarm panel housed in an ABS enclosure, certified to EN54 Part 2 (control and indicating equipment) and Part 4 (power supply equipment). Each of the two programmable zones supports up to 30 fire detectors plus an unlimited number of manual call points, with active end-of-line monitoring that detects head removal and circuit faults in real time.

Designed for small commercial premises, light industrial units, care homes and multi-occupancy residential buildings requiring two discrete fire detection zones, the panel includes an integral sounder circuit with individual fault identification, a volt-free fire relay and a volt-free fault relay for connection to external alarm systems or building management panels. The one-man walk test facility allows a single engineer to test all detection points sequentially without returning to the panel after each activation.

The panel runs on 230V mains with a single 12V standby battery (battery not included), reducing installation complexity compared to dual-battery designs. Individual zone and sounder isolation switches allow maintenance on one zone without disabling the entire system. A 'class change' facility lets the installer reconfigure zone response characteristics, and the enable/disable security key prevents unauthorised tampering with settings. The ABS casing provides impact resistance and meets fire safety equipment enclosure standards for non-metallic housings.

What's the maximum number of detectors per zone?

Each zone supports up to 30 fire detectors (smoke, heat or multi-sensor heads). There is no limit on the number of manual call points per zone, which are counted separately from automatic detectors.

Does the panel include a standby battery?

No. The MAG2P requires one 12V standby battery, which is not supplied with the panel and must be purchased separately. The panel runs on 230V mains during normal operation and switches to battery backup during mains failure.

What is the 'class change' facility?

Class change allows the installer to reconfigure how each zone responds when triggered — for example, setting a zone to provide a local alarm only, or to activate the main sounder immediately. This is configured during commissioning and secured with the panel's key switch.

Can I isolate one zone for maintenance without shutting down the whole system?

Yes. The panel has individual zone isolate switches and individual sounder isolate switches, allowing maintenance on one zone or one sounder circuit while the rest of the system remains active and monitoring.
