MAGfire 150mm Internal Fire Bell 95dB - Red

The MAGfire IFB is a 150mm (6-inch) internal fire bell designed for conventional fire alarm systems, delivering 95dB output at 1 metre. The red ABS dome houses an electromechanical bell mechanism driven by 11mA current on standard 12V or 24V fire panel outputs, making it compatible with most UK conventional fire alarm control panels.

Designed for corridors, stairwells, lobbies and enclosed commercial spaces where audible fire warning is required, the bell mounts to a standard UK single-gang back box or directly onto plasterboard, masonry or timber stud walls using the integral mounting lugs. The IP21C rating provides basic ingress protection against solid objects larger than 12.5mm and vertically dripping water, making it suitable for internal dry spaces but not wet areas or outdoor environments.

The red polycarbonate dome is printed with 'FIRE ALARM' in white, providing clear visual identification as a fire sounder rather than a security device. The 150mm diameter gives audible coverage across typical corridor widths and small-to-medium rooms without requiring multiple sounders, though spacing should be calculated according to BS 5839-1 recommendations for the specific room geometry and background noise level.

What voltage does the MAGfire fire bell operate on?

The bell is compatible with standard 12V or 24V DC fire alarm control panel outputs. Check the datasheet for the exact voltage range and current draw at each voltage. Most conventional panels in the UK provide 24V sounder outputs.

Can this be used outdoors or in bathrooms?

No. The IP21C rating provides basic ingress protection for internal dry spaces only. For outdoor or wet area applications, a weatherproof sounder with IP65 or higher rating is required.

How is the bell mounted?

The bell mounts to a standard UK single-gang back box or can be fixed directly to plasterboard, masonry or timber stud walls using the integral mounting lugs on the back of the base. Two-core fire-rated cable connects to terminals inside the base.

What's the coverage area for a 95dB output?

95dB at 1 metre is sufficient for small-to-medium rooms and typical corridor widths.
