Description

The MagDuo is a 150mm square wall-mount sounder designed for 2-wire intruder alarm and security systems, supplied in a white finish with an IP21C rating for indoor installation. The sounder connects via a 2-wire loop to a compatible control panel, drawing power and receiving trigger signals on the same cable pair. Built-in end-of-line functionality allows the control panel to monitor the sounder's connection status and detect tampering or disconnection.

Designed for domestic and commercial security installations where audible alarm output is needed without running separate power cables, the MagDuo mounts directly to internal walls and includes a device base in the box. The volume level can be adjusted on-site to suit the room size and acoustic environment, ranging from a lower indoor setting for small offices to a higher output for larger open-plan spaces or hallways.

The 150mm square faceplate sits flat against the wall with minimal projection, and the white finish integrates into light-coloured interior schemes without visual dominance. At 250g net weight the sounder requires only standard wall fixings for plasterboard or masonry installation. The IP21C rating confirms protection against ingress of solid objects larger than 12.5mm and vertically falling water droplets, making it suitable for hallways, offices, retail spaces and enclosed porches.

What does 2-wire connection mean?

The MagDuo receives both power and trigger signals from the alarm control panel on a single 2-wire cable pair, rather than requiring separate power and signal cables. This simplifies installation and reduces cable runs compared to 4-wire sounders.

What is the end-of-line function?

The built-in end-of-line function allows the control panel to continuously monitor the sounder's connection. If the sounder is disconnected or tampered with, the panel detects the change in circuit resistance and can trigger an alert or fault condition.

Can it be used outdoors?

No. The IP21C rating provides protection against solid objects and vertically falling water droplets, but not against rain, direct spray or prolonged moisture exposure. Use this sounder indoors only.

Is the volume adjustable after installation?

Yes. The volume level can be adjusted on-site to suit the room size and acoustic requirements, allowing installers to set an appropriate output level without changing the device.
