Description
The Maba is a round coffee table, 72cm across and 42cm high. The top is a single aluminium disc finished in antique brass, and the patina across it is uneven: green and grey clouds over a gold ground, with copper brown patches where the surface has darkened, and a bright brass line running right round the rim. The top sits inside a dark iron collar, and below it the base is three flat iron legs that drop straight to the floor and turn inward to meet at the centre.
At 42cm it is a low table, and the 72cm top is wide enough for a tray and a stack of books. It sits in the middle of a seating group, pulled close in front of a sofa. The three legs stand inside the line of the top rather than at its edge, so the table can be pushed up to a sofa without a leg catching on it, and the open base leaves the floor clear underneath.
The top is aluminium and the base is iron. The ageing of the top is deliberate, so the patina lands differently on every table and no two read the same across the surface. The finish is textured rather than polished, and it marks where something hot or wet is set down on it. The Maba range also holds a pair of nesting side tables in the same antique brass.

Frequently Asked
How wide is the top?
72cm across, and the table stands 42cm high.
Is the top solid brass?
No. The top is aluminium finished in antique brass, and the base is iron.
Will the patina be the same on every table?
Not exactly. Every top is aged individually, so the pattern of green, grey and gold across it differs from table to table.
How many legs does it have?
Three, joined at floor level and meeting at the centre.
How do I look after it?
Use coasters for drinks, because the finish marks on contact with a hot cup or with liquid. Wipe spills with a damp cloth and dry immediately, and keep harsh chemicals and abrasive materials away from the surface.
