Description

The LYYT Wide Crown is a 1m aluminium LED profile channel with a 24mm x 11mm external section and a 21mm visible width once the clear snap-fit cover is installed. The profile accepts LED tape up to 20mm wide and 7mm thick, and is designed for surface mounting on flat vertical or horizontal surfaces using the supplied metal mounting clips.

Designed for under-cabinet lighting in kitchens, shelving in retail displays, and worktop task lighting in offices and workshops, the wide crown section spreads the light output from the LED tape across a broader angle than narrow profiles. This reduces the hard-edge shadowing that narrow channels can create when mounted close to a surface, giving a more diffused light wash. The clear polycarbonate cover clips into grooves on the aluminium channel without tools and can be removed for LED tape installation or maintenance.

The 1m length can be cut to size with a hacksaw and joined end-to-end using standard aluminium profile connectors (sold separately). The aluminium channel acts as a heat sink, drawing heat away from the LED tape and extending LED lifespan. The surface mount clips allow the profile to be fitted horizontally or vertically without recessing into the substrate, making it a faster installation option than recessed track systems.

What width of LED tape does this profile accept?

The internal channel is 20mm wide and 7mm deep, so it will accept LED tape up to 20mm wide and with a combined tape-plus-backing thickness of up to 7mm. Most standard 12V and 24V LED tapes between 8mm and 12mm wide will fit comfortably.

How is the cover fitted?

The clear polycarbonate cover snaps into grooves on the two long edges of the aluminium profile. No tools or additional clips are required. The cover can be removed by flexing it slightly and lifting it out of the grooves.

Can the profile be cut to size?

Yes. The aluminium channel can be cut with a hacksaw to any length shorter than 1m. Cut edges should be deburred with a file before fitting the cover. End caps are available separately to finish the cut ends.

What's included in the pack?

The pack contains the 1m aluminium profile, the snap-fit clear cover, and surface mount clips for installation. LED tape, power supplies, connectors and end caps are sold separately.
