Description

The LYYT Tall Crown is a 2m surface-mount LED profile with an 18x16mm external cross-section and a frosted crowned diffuser visible at 14mm width. The profile accepts LED strip lights up to 12mm wide and 10mm tall, housing them inside an aluminium channel that fixes directly to flat surfaces with the crowned diffuser sitting proud above the mounting flange.

Designed for furniture edges, under-cabinet installations, shelf accent lighting and architectural detailing where the profile itself becomes part of the visual design, the crowned diffuser shape distributes light evenly along the 2m length while softening the direct view of individual LEDs. The profile ships as a 2m extrusion and can be cut to length on-site with a hacksaw or mitre saw, allowing multiple shorter runs to be created from a single length.

The aluminium extrusion acts as a heat sink for the LED strip, extending LED lifespan by dissipating heat away from the diodes. The frosted diffuser reduces glare and hot-spotting compared to bare LED strip, giving a continuous light line rather than visible individual points. The profile includes end caps and mounting clips for a complete installation package.

Can the profile be cut to shorter lengths?

Yes. The 2m aluminium extrusion can be cut to any shorter length using a hacksaw or mitre saw, allowing you to create multiple runs from a single profile. Cut ends will need end caps, which are included with the profile.

Is the diffuser removable for fitting the LED strip?

Yes. The frosted crowned diffuser clips into the aluminium channel and can be removed to allow LED strip installation, then clipped back into place once the strip is secured inside the profile.

What surfaces can this be mounted to?

The profile is designed for surface mounting to any flat, stable surface including wood, plasterboard, MDF, metal and tile. Mounting clips or adhesive are used depending on the surface type and the weight load.
