Description

The LYYT Tall Crown is a 1m black aluminium LED profile with an 18x16mm external section and a 12x10mm internal channel, designed to house LED tape up to 10mm wide. The profile's 16mm height gives deeper light concealment than standard profiles, reducing glare from the tape and delivering a more diffused wash of light along the surface. The crowned polycarbonate diffuser clips into the profile and provides 14mm of visible width once installed.

Designed for surface mounting on shelving edges, under kitchen cabinets, along furniture reveals, and within architectural recesses, the profile installs with adhesive backing or screw-fixing through the base. The black finish integrates cleanly with dark surfaces, dark-stained wood, and black or charcoal-painted walls, allowing the fitting to recede visually when not illuminated. The profile is sold as a 1m length and can be cut to size on-site with a hacksaw.

The snap-fit diffuser spreads light evenly across its 14mm width and softens the individual LED diode points, preventing the dotted appearance common with exposed tape. The internal 12x10mm channel accepts most standard-width LED tape products (sold separately). The aluminium extrusion acts as a heat sink, drawing heat away from the tape and extending its operational life.

The internal channel measures 12x10mm, so the profile accepts LED tape up to 10mm wide. Most standard single-row LED tape products fit comfortably. Confirm the width of your specific tape before ordering.

Can the profile be cut to length?

Yes. The 1m aluminium profile can be cut to any shorter length using a hacksaw or mitre saw with a fine-tooth blade. Cut edges should be deburred before fitting the diffuser.

How is the diffuser fitted?

The crowned polycarbonate diffuser clips into grooves machined into the profile walls. Press the diffuser into place by hand after installing the LED tape. It can be removed for tape replacement or cleaning by gently levering it out from one end.

Does the profile include mounting hardware?

The profile is supplied with end caps and mounting clips. Surface fixing can be achieved with adhesive backing on the profile base or by screw-fixing through pre-drilled holes in the aluminium. LED tape and power supply are sold separately.
