Description

The LYYT Static 2 Way Outdoor String Light Splitter is a T-junction connector that splits a single mains power feed into two separate outputs for static (non-flashing) outdoor string lights. The body is moulded from black rubber with IP44-rated seals around each connector socket, allowing it to withstand rain and moisture when used outdoors.

Designed for garden, patio and festive lighting setups where two separate runs of string lights need to branch from a single power source, the splitter reduces the need for multiple mains sockets and extension cables. One end connects to the incoming power cable, while the two branch ends feed separate light strings running in different directions. This works for covering adjacent fence runs, branching across a patio canopy, or running lights along two sides of a gazebo from a single point.

The rubber body and ribbed grips on each connector provide a secure seal when the plugs are fully seated, and the T-shape keeps cable runs organised without tangled junctions. The IP44 rating protects against solid objects above 1mm and water splashes from any direction, making the splitter suitable for year-round outdoor use in UK weather conditions. Total load capacity depends on the incoming power cable rating and the combined draw of the two connected light strings — refer to the cable and transformer specifications to avoid overloading.

Frequently Asked

What does IP44 mean?

IP44 provides protection against solid objects larger than 1mm and water splashes from any direction. The splitter can be used outdoors in rain and damp conditions but should not be submerged or placed where water can pool around the connectors.

What light strings is this compatible with?

The splitter works with LYYT and other connectable static (non-flashing) outdoor string lights that use the same connector format. Check that the plug and socket profiles match before connecting. It is not compatible with mains voltage festoon lights or lights with different connector types.

How much load can it handle?

The splitter itself does not limit current — the load capacity is determined by the incoming power cable and transformer. Check the transformer or power supply rating and the combined wattage of the two connected light strings to ensure you stay within safe limits.

Can it be daisy-chained with other splitters?

Yes, you can connect another splitter to one of the branch outputs to create further divisions, but the total load on the incoming power cable must not exceed its rated capacity. Always check the combined wattage of all connected lights.
