Description

The LYYT Short Crown is an 18mm wide aluminium LED profile with a clear snap-fit diffuser, designed for surface-mounting LED tape along cabinet edges, shelving and architectural details. The profile measures 9mm tall with a subtly curved crown top that houses a 12.5mm wide clear polycarbonate cover, providing light diffusion without obscuring the LED tape beneath.

Designed for furniture lighting, under-cabinet runs, shelf edges and interior architectural accents, the profile mounts directly to surfaces using the included aluminium clips. The 2m length allows for continuous runs without joins on most single cabinet units or shelf spans. The clear diffuser snaps into the aluminium channel without tools, and the low 9mm height keeps the profile visually minimal when fitted to cabinet undersides or shelf edges.

The internal channel measures 12mm wide by 6mm deep, accommodating standard 10mm and 12mm wide LED tape. The aluminium body acts as a heat sink for the LED tape, extending diode life and maintaining consistent brightness over long runs. The clear diffuser is 7mm deep from the base of the channel, providing enough clearance for most tape heights while keeping the total profile depth to 9mm.

What width LED tape does it take?

The internal channel is 12mm wide, so it accommodates 10mm and 12mm wide LED tape. Narrower 8mm tape also fits but will sit slightly off-centre unless positioned carefully during installation.

How is the diffuser secured?

The clear polycarbonate diffuser snaps into the aluminium channel without tools. It can be removed and re-fitted for cleaning or to replace the LED tape.

What mounting accessories are included?

The profile is supplied with aluminium mounting clips that screw to the mounting surface. The profile then clips into these brackets, allowing removal for maintenance without unscrewing the brackets.

Can the profile be cut to length?

Yes. The aluminium profile can be cut with a hacksaw or mitre saw to fit shorter runs. The diffuser can be cut with a fine-tooth saw or scored and snapped. Always cut square to maintain the snap-fit.
