Description

The LYYT Short Crown is a 1m aluminium LED profile with an 18mm x 9mm external cross-section, designed for surface-mounting LED tape along furniture edges, wall recesses, under-cabinet runs and decorative trim. The profile features a curved clear polycarbonate cover that snaps into place over the channel, diffusing the LED output while still allowing the individual light points to show through.

Designed for low-profile installations where a traditional deep channel would be too obtrusive, the 9mm height makes the Short Crown suitable for tight spaces such as the underside of floating shelves, inside glass-fronted cabinets, or along the top edge of picture rails. The 12mm x 6mm internal channel accepts most standard 10-12mm LED tape widths, and the aluminium body acts as a heat sink to extend LED lifespan.

The profile ships as a 1m length that can be cut to size with a hacksaw on site, allowing multiple sections to be fitted to custom furniture or architectural features without ordering pre-cut lengths. The clear cover provides a clean finish without visible fixings once clipped on, and the curved profile softens the light output compared to flat diffusers. Mounting clips and end caps are included.

The 12mm x 6mm internal channel accepts most standard LED tape widths between 8mm and 12mm. Check the tape width before ordering — wider COB-style tape may not fit.

Can the profile be cut to length?

Yes. The 1m aluminium extrusion can be cut to custom lengths using a hacksaw or mitre saw. Cut slowly to avoid burrs on the aluminium and ensure a clean edge for the end caps.

Is the cover frosted or clear?

Clear. The polycarbonate cover is transparent, so individual LED points will be visible through it. For a more diffused output where the LED points are hidden, consider a frosted or opal diffuser variant if available in this profile style.
