Description

The LYYT shallow section LED profile is a 1m aluminium extrusion with a 16mm wide, 6mm deep external profile, designed for surface-mounting LED tape in tight spaces where standard profiles are too deep. The 11.2mm internal channel accepts LED strip widths up to 10mm, with 4mm of depth inside to house the tape and allow air circulation for heat dissipation.

Designed for furniture lighting, under-shelf installations, display cases, and slim architectural features where a low profile is needed, the extrusion mounts directly onto surfaces using adhesive tape or screws (fixings included). The snap-fit diffuser presses into the aluminium channel without tools and spreads the light evenly along the length, softening LED hotspots and providing a continuous line of light rather than visible individual diodes.

The aluminium body acts as a heatsink, drawing heat away from the LED tape and extending its lifespan compared to tape mounted directly onto wood or plasterboard. The diffuser sits flush with the aluminium sides once snapped in, presenting an 11mm visible light band when viewed from the front. The profile can be cut to shorter lengths on-site using a hacksaw if the full 1m is not needed.

Each 1m length is supplied with end caps and mounting clips to secure the profile in place. Multiple profiles can be joined end-to-end using joiner clips (sold separately) for runs longer than 1m, though most applications use individual metre sections for accent lighting rather than continuous runs.

What width LED tape does it accept?

Can it be cut to shorter lengths?
