Description

The LYYT recessed T-style LED profile is a 1m aluminium channel designed to create flush-mounted linear lighting runs in ceilings, walls and joinery. The profile measures 25mm wide by 18.5mm deep externally, with a 12.5mm square internal channel sized for standard LED tape up to 12mm wide. The clear polycarbonate cover snap-fits into the aluminium extrusion and sits flush with the surrounding surface once installed, leaving a visible 14mm diffused light strip.

Designed for recessed installation, the profile requires a routed or cut channel in plasterboard, MDF, timber or similar materials to accept the T-shaped cross-section. The spring clips provided allow the profile to be held securely in position during installation without adhesive or mechanical fixings visible on the face. Once the LED tape is fitted inside the channel and the cover clipped on, the result is a continuous linear light source with no visible hardware.

The 1m length suits shorter feature runs, shelf lighting, alcove accents, stair nosing lighting, and tight architectural details where longer profiles would need to be cut down. The aluminium body acts as a heat sink for the LED tape, improving LED lifespan and maintaining consistent light output. The clear cover allows maximum light transmission while protecting the tape from dust and contact damage. Multiple profiles can be end-butted to create longer continuous runs.

What width LED tape does it take?

The 12.5mm square internal channel accepts LED tape up to 12mm wide. Most standard 10mm and 12mm wide LED tapes fit comfortably with room for cable routing at one end.

How is it installed?

The T-shaped profile requires a routed or cut channel in the mounting surface. The spring clips provided hold the profile in the channel during installation. Once the LED tape is fitted and the cover snapped on, the profile sits flush with the surrounding material.

Can multiple profiles be joined?
