Description

The LYYT recessed LED profile is a 2m aluminium channel designed for flush-mounting LED tape into walls, ceilings or floors in moisture-exposed environments. The profile accepts LED tape up to 12mm wide and 4mm thick within its internal cavity, and ships with a knock-in frosted diffuser held by an IP68-rated seal that prevents water ingress when installed correctly.

Designed for architectural installations where the LED source needs to sit level with the mounting surface rather than projecting from it, the profile is routed into the substrate during installation so only the 18mm-wide diffuser remains visible once fitted. This makes it suitable for wet rooms, bathroom floors, exterior decking perimeters, kitchen plinths and commercial lobby floors where both water resistance and a flush finish are required. The bevel-edged diffuser sits fractionally proud of the aluminium channel to allow for surface-level cleaning without catching mop heads or floor scrapers.

The 2m length ships as a single extrusion and can be cut to size on site with a hacksaw or mitre saw. The aluminium body dissipates heat from the LED tape into the substrate, which is particularly useful when the profile is recessed into masonry or timber where the surrounding material acts as additional heatsinking. The IP68 rating means the profile can handle temporary submersion up to 1m depth, though it is primarily intended for splash zones and surface water exposure rather than permanent underwater use.
