Description

The LYYT outdoor string light extension cable adds 5m of run between static LED string light sections, using weatherproof rubber construction rated to IP44 for year-round outdoor use. The cable carries two cores within a black rubber jacket, with moulded connectors at each end that mate directly with LYYT heavy duty LED static string lights.

Designed for gardens, patios, pergolas and outdoor event installations where the distance between a power source and the first string light section exceeds the standard lead length, or where multiple string light runs need to be linked across a larger area. The IP44 rating protects against splashing water from any direction, making the cable suitable for uncovered outdoor positions exposed to rain. The black rubber jacket blends into foliage and dark-painted structures when run overhead or along fences.

The 5m length is fixed and cannot be cut to a shorter dimension without losing the moulded connectors. The cable adds minimal voltage drop over the 5m run when used within the rated load of the string lights, maintaining consistent LED brightness across extended installations. The rubber jacket remains flexible down to -20°C, preventing the cable from becoming brittle in winter months when left permanently installed outdoors.

No. The cable is designed specifically for LYYT heavy duty LED static string lights and uses moulded connectors that mate with those fittings. It will not work with other brands or festoon-style bulb holders without adapter fittings.

Can the cable be left outdoors year-round?

Yes. The IP44 rating and rubber construction allow the cable to remain outdoors in UK weather conditions throughout the year. The rubber jacket stays flexible down to -20°C and resists UV degradation over multiple seasons.

Can multiple extension cables be linked together?
