Description

The LYYT Professional RGB Flexible Link is a 150mm solder-free connector cable for 12mm RGB LED tape, supplied in packs of five. Each link carries four colour-coded cores (red, green, blue, black) and terminates in white snap connectors at both ends, allowing tape sections to be joined or extended without soldering equipment.

Designed for installers working on retail displays, commercial lighting installations, under-cabinet runs and entertainment venues, the links handle situations where LED tape needs to turn a corner, cross a gap, or connect sections that cannot be laid continuously. The snap connectors clip onto the copper pads of 12mm RGB tape and hold with friction and spring tension, giving a reliable connection that can be removed and repositioned if needed during installation.

Each link weighs 5g and measures 165mm overall including the connectors, with the cable itself running 150mm between connector bodies. The IP20 rating suits dry indoor applications. The four-core construction ensures accurate colour signal transmission between tape sections, preventing colour drift or imbalance across long runs. The links are equally suited to permanent fixtures and temporary event setups where tape may be reconfigured between uses.

Do these require soldering?

No. The snap connectors clip directly onto the copper pads of 12mm RGB LED tape without soldering. The connectors hold by friction and spring tension, allowing the link to be removed and repositioned if needed.

What width LED tape do they fit?

These links are designed for 12mm RGB tape. They will not fit 8mm or 10mm tape widths, and single-colour tape (which uses two cores rather than four) requires a different connector type.

Can they be used outdoors?

The IP20 rating suits dry indoor applications only. For outdoor or damp locations, IP65 or IP67-rated connectors are required.

How much current can they carry?

LYYT does not publish a specific current rating for these links, but typical 12mm RGB tape draws 1-1.5A per metre. For runs carrying more than 3-4A it's advisable to inject power at multiple points rather than relying on a single connector to carry the full load.
