Description
The LYYT 960 LED string lights deliver 960 warm white LEDs across a 14m lit length on a dark green PVC cable, creating a dense cluster effect suited to wrapping trees, pergolas, fencing and building facades. The 5m power lead extends the total cable run to 19m, allowing the string to reach outdoor features set back from mains sockets. An inline controller provides 8 selectable lighting modes including steady-on, twinkle, wave, sequential and fade patterns, plus a timer function that automatically switches the lights on for 8 hours and off for 16 hours each day.
Designed for both residential and commercial decorative lighting, the string lights work indoors wrapped around stair banisters, mantels and room perimeters, and outdoors under canopies, eaves, gazebos and covered terraces where the IP44 rating protects against splashing rain but not direct immersion. The 10mm spacing between individual 2mm concave LEDs produces a concentrated cluster appearance rather than individual pinpoint lights, and the concave lens shape spreads light evenly across viewing angles without the directional hotspot of flat-top LEDs.
The warm white colour temperature produces a soft amber-toned glow that pairs with traditional, rustic and festive settings, and the 31V low-voltage transformer reduces shock risk compared to mains-voltage systems. The dark green cable blends into foliage and evergreen plantings when used outdoors, or can be concealed behind decorative elements indoors. The 8-mode controller allows seasonal variation without replacing the string, switching between static display for background lighting and animated effects for events.

Frequently Asked
What does IP44 rated mean for outdoor use?
IP44 protects against splashing water from any direction but not direct spray, submersion or heavy rain exposure. The LYYT 960 is suitable for sheltered outdoor locations such as under eaves, canopies, covered terraces and gazebos. It should not be used in fully exposed positions without overhead protection.
How does the timer function work?
The built-in timer runs an 8-hour on, 16-hour off cycle once activated via the inline controller. Plug the lights in at your preferred start time, activate the timer mode, and the lights will repeat the same daily cycle automatically without needing a separate plug timer.
Can the lighting modes be changed after installation?
Yes. The inline controller sits on the 5m power lead and allows cycling through 8 modes at any time. Modes include steady-on, twinkle, wave, sequential, slow fade and combination effects. The controller does not require the string to be unplugged to change modes.
What spacing is needed when wrapping trees or posts?
The 960 LEDs over 14m create approximately 69 LEDs per metre. For a dense wrap on a tree trunk or post, allow 3-4 loops per vertical metre of trunk height. For lighter coverage on pergola beams or fencing, a single run along each horizontal or vertical section is typically sufficient.
