Description
The LYYT 90 LED Heavy Duty String Lights comprise 90 cool white LEDs spaced 100mm apart on a 9m lit section of UV-resistant black rubber cable, with a 1.5m mains lead giving 10.5m total length. Each LED sits in a concave head that distributes light evenly in all directions, preventing the hotspots and dead angles common in cheaper festoon strings. The IP44 rating protects against rain and outdoor moisture, making the set suitable for year-round installation in gardens, patios, commercial terraces and retail frontages.
Designed for large-scale installations, each set connects to the next via a waterproof coupling, allowing up to 12 sets to run from a single mains plug without additional power sources. This gives a maximum continuous run of 108m lit length (126m total) for events, perimeter lighting and commercial shopfront applications. The 5W maximum power consumption for all 90 LEDs keeps running costs low and reduces heat output compared to traditional festoon bulbs.
The cool white colour temperature (6000K) produces a crisp, neutral light that reads as contemporary rather than warm or festive, making the string suitable for both decorative and functional applications. The heavy-duty rubber cable resists UV degradation and remains flexible in cold weather, unlike cheaper PVC-jacketed strings that stiffen and crack. The concave LED heads are recessed into protective housings to reduce damage from handling and storage.
An optional 5m extension lead (order ref 155.488UK, sold separately) extends the mains lead where the nearest outdoor socket is further than 1.5m from the installation start point.

Frequently Asked
Can these be left outdoors year-round?
Yes. The IP44 rating protects against rain and outdoor moisture, and the UV-resistant rubber cable resists degradation from sunlight. However, the mains plug itself should be protected under an IP-rated outdoor socket cover or brought indoors when not in use for extended periods.
How many sets can be connected together?
Up to 12 sets can be connected end-to-end from a single mains plug, giving a maximum continuous run of 108m lit length (126m total including mains leads). Each set connects via a waterproof coupling between the end of one string and the start of the next.
What is the colour temperature?
The cool white LEDs are rated at 6000K, producing a crisp neutral-to-cool light rather than a warm yellow glow. This makes them suitable for contemporary installations, commercial frontages and applications where a modern rather than festive appearance is preferred.
Is the cable flexible in cold weather?
The heavy-duty rubber cable remains flexible in cold temperatures, unlike cheaper PVC-jacketed strings that can stiffen and crack in winter. This makes the LYYT suitable for year-round outdoor installation in the UK climate.
