Description

The LYYT 60W is a 24V DC LED power supply with IP67 weatherproof protection, delivering up to 2.5A output for LED tape and low-voltage lighting circuits. The 222 x 29 x 21mm slimline aluminium housing carries an IP67 rating against dust and temporary water immersion, making it suitable for outdoor architectural lighting, landscape installations, and damp internal spaces where moisture ingress is a risk.

Designed for professional installation of LED tape runs up to 60W total load, the power supply accepts 200-250V AC mains input and provides regulated 24V DC output through a single feed with pre-wired cable tails. Short circuit protection shuts down the unit if the output is accidentally shorted during installation or if a connected LED driver fails, preventing damage to the power supply and connected lighting.

The compact footprint allows the unit to be concealed in shallow ceiling voids, behind exterior cladding panels, or within IP-rated junction boxes where space is limited. At 240g the power supply can be fixed to vertical surfaces using cable ties or mounting brackets without requiring structural support. The IP67 rating means the unit can handle outdoor exposure in UK climates, including rain and condensation, though it should be positioned to avoid standing water pooling around the cable entry glands.

How much LED tape can this power supply run?

The 60W output at 24V DC supports up to 2.5A total load. For typical 24V LED tape rated at 14.4W per metre, this power supply can run approximately 4 metres of tape. Always calculate the total wattage of your LED tape run before selecting a power supply and allow 10-15% headroom to avoid running at maximum capacity.

What does IP67 mean for installation?

IP67 means the unit is dust-tight and protected against temporary immersion in water up to 1 metre depth for 30 minutes. It can handle outdoor rain, splashes and condensation, but should not be installed where it will sit in standing water or be permanently submerged.

Does it need ventilation?

No. The slimline aluminium housing acts as a heat sink and the unit is rated for enclosed installation. It does not require air circulation gaps, which is why it works well in shallow ceiling voids and behind exterior cladding.

Is it suitable for dimming?

The power supply provides constant 24V DC output and does not have built-in dimming. To dim connected LED tape you will need a separate 24V DC PWM dimmer controller installed between this power supply and the LED tape.
