Description

The LYYT 24V DC power supply delivers 300W at 12.5A through a single output feed, designed for professional LED tape installations requiring weatherproof operation. The unit is housed in an IP67-rated aluminium enclosure that protects the internal circuitry from dust ingress and temporary immersion up to 1m depth, making it suitable for outdoor architectural lighting, garden features, and covered outdoor hospitality areas.

Built for installations where the power supply must sit outside the building envelope or in damp internal locations such as pool houses and conservatories, the LYYT accepts 190-250Vac mains input at 50/60Hz and steps down to constant 24V DC output. The 300W capacity supports up to 12.5 metres of high-density 24W-per-metre LED tape on a single run, or multiple parallel runs totalling 300W combined load. Internal short circuit protection cuts power if a fault is detected on the output side, preventing damage to both the supply and the connected LED tape.

The aluminium case measures 257mm long by 90mm wide by 40mm deep, with mounting flanges at each end allowing the unit to be fixed to external walls, under-eave soffits, or inside outdoor electrical enclosures. At 1.57kg the supply needs secure fixings rather than adhesive mounting. The ribbed aluminium construction acts as a passive heatsink, dissipating the internal heat generated during operation without requiring active cooling fans. Input and output cables exit via IP67-rated compression glands on opposite ends of the case.

Frequently Asked

How much LED tape can this power supply run?

At 300W output, the supply supports up to 12.5 metres of 24W-per-metre LED tape on a single continuous run, or multiple parallel runs totalling 300W combined. For lower-density tape (e.g. 12W per metre), the maximum run length doubles to 25 metres.

Can it be used outdoors permanently?

Yes. The IP67 rating protects against dust and temporary immersion up to 1m depth for 30 minutes. The unit can be mounted outdoors in rain and damp conditions, but should be installed where it is not permanently submerged or subject to direct high-pressure water jets.

Does it need ventilation or clearance around the case?

The aluminium case dissipates heat passively through the ribbed surface. Allow at least 50mm clearance on all sides for airflow, and avoid mounting the unit inside sealed enclosures without ventilation holes or inside insulated ceiling voids where heat cannot escape.

What input voltage does it accept?

The supply accepts 190-250Vac at 50/60Hz, covering standard UK 230V mains and tolerating voltage fluctuations or use in regions with 220V or 240V nominal supply.
