Description
The LYYT 180 LED icicle string lights hold 180 warm white LEDs across 3.6m of lit length, arranged in four drop lengths—460mm, 300mm, 550mm and 260mm—that repeat along the string to create the staggered appearance of hanging icicles. The lights run on 230V mains with a 2.15m lead cable from the plug to the first LED, giving 5.75m total reach. Power consumption is 5.9W at maximum brightness, drawing approximately 0.026A.
Designed for outdoor seasonal and permanent decorative installation, the lights carry an IP44 rating against rain and splashing when hung horizontally or at a downward angle. The heavy-duty UV-resistant rubber cable in black withstands year-round outdoor exposure without the brittleness or colour fade associated with cheaper PVC-sheathed strings. The icicle format suits fascias, guttering, pergolas, gazebo edges and porch eaves where a vertical drop effect is wanted. Up to five sets can be connected in series from a single plug, covering up to 18m of linear run before requiring a second power point.
Eight pre-programmed lighting sequences are built into the controller module: combination mode (phasing on and off), waves (sequential cascade), sequential (LEDs light one at a time), slow-glow (gentle fade in and out), chasing/flash (running patterns), slow fade, twinkle/flash (random sparkle), and steady-on (constant). The controller sits inline on the lead cable and is operated by a single mode button that cycles through the eight programmes. Concave LED heads diffuse light across a wider viewing angle than flat-top LEDs, reducing the appearance of individual point sources when viewed from below.

Frequently Asked
Can these be left outside all year?
The IP44 rating and UV-resistant rubber cable make the lights suitable for permanent outdoor installation in the UK climate. The IP44 rating protects against rain and splashing but not full submersion, so avoid pooling water around the controller module or plug connection.
How many sets can be connected together?
Up to five sets can be connected in series from a single plug, giving a maximum lit length of 18m before requiring a second power point. Each set draws 5.9W, so five sets draw approximately 30W total.
What colour temperature are the LEDs?
The LEDs are warm white, typically around 3000K. This produces a soft yellow-white glow similar to traditional incandescent festoon lights rather than the cooler blue-white of daylight LEDs.
Can the lights be used indoors?
Yes. The IP44 rating and rubber cable make them over-specified for indoor use, but there is no technical restriction on using them indoors if the icicle drop format suits the installation.
